Photo Diary: Seoul (Part 2)

Location: Seoul, South Korea

Anddd that concludes my Seoul trip !

On day 2 after Gyeongbukgong Palace we headed to Myeong-dong for some 'hyper shopping' LOL. There's quite a few nice local shops there but just a whole hoard of Korean beauty stores. Joan found our new favourite store, Banila & Co. and proceeded to buy a bunch of cheap beauty and face products that we will never need.

We headed to Gangnam Station which unfortunately was a bit disappointing. The weather was -10 degrees so walking in an outdoor shopping strip was not at the top of our list of things to do. The stores were a lot of big international brands that you could get everywhere else anyway.
We did have a nice KBBQ there and I managed to order in all Korean ! My mum would be so proud. (Although I did accidentally order this plate of raw beef and egg on pear...yeah don't ask).

We continued to brave the freezing weather and opted to go see the N Seoul Tower at night, and it was a good choice ! We got to see all the pretty lights but the wait for the cable car down, out in the cold, was UNBEARABLE. Jks we survived, I might've lost a toe or two and I thought my nose was never gonna stop running but s'all good in da hood.

We then continued the night in Dongdaemun for some 24 hour market and underground shopping...Anddd that's where all my money went :(

After replenishing my tattered old wallet, we headed to Insadong for some culture and grab some souvenirs before our flight home the next day !

Seoul was an enlightening escape for 3 days, but I feel like it wasn't as amazing as everyone made it out to be. The city's actually quite empty and spaced out, but what is really worth noticing is all the mountains that surround the city. Seoul is unique in the way that you can turn around and see the ancient cultural Seoul and then look ahead and see the international metropolis that it is. Walking along the streets you don't actually feel like you're in an Asian city. The shopping is okay, the style is nice but the price is  the same as back home so it doesn't seem too worth it. But what is worth it is the beauty products !!! HAHAHA we went crazy, they're just so fun and cute to buy.

I feel like 3 days was alright, we crammed SO much into the second day, but we almost saw everything we wanted to see. A 4 day trip to Seoul would be an ideal trip, I personally wouldn't stay longer than 6 days.

I'll be posting a vlog of my trip up on Youtube soon, and I'll talk more about transport, spending, food, accommodation. So if ya'll wanna see and hear about that stay tuned :)
