Weekend Wanders in Macau

Location: Macau

The water dancing is AMAZING
I was in awe, beyond your wildest imagination
Flying out of the water, disappearing into the water, reappearing
OH GOSH too much to handle !!!

Ok so Macau personally was not my favourite place, and not the best place for a holiday by far....
We really over-estimated the amount of time we needed here, honestly one day was enough, two days was comfortable, on the third day we were BOREDDD.
I'm glad we spent most of our time in Old Town across the river as new Macau is just full of hotels and casino's and the deadly 'Shoppes' in The Venetian, full of horrible shops and is basically more difficult than a maze to get out of (we got lost in their for HOURS)

It was very interesting to see remnants of Portuguese culture in Macau Old Town, the buildings were so colourful and I loved the tiling on the floors, it was so vibrant.
We basically just ate our way around the entire city, from drinking super bitter black tea, to mango sago, to shuang pi an (kind of like milk jelly) to crunchy bao zi bread things with pork inside..mmmm

Where to stay...
The Sheraton Hotel was one of the more cheaper options, but the hotel was REALLY nice, we didn't have breakfast in it as we didn't want to waste our money. All the hotels are basically connected to the shopping centres and the Shoppes at the Venetian, so don't fret ! It doesn't really matter where you stay, it's just a great big clump, and everything is within walking distance. I actually preferred to stay at a hotel like this, rather than at the Venetian, it just kind of creeped me out, the decor was REALLY over the top and it was just uncomfortable LOL

Getting around...
There are Taxi's in Macau city, just go to any hotel lobby and there will be cabs.
When your in Macau Old Town, THAT'S ANOTHER STORY
We basically got stuck there, and had to walk to to a hotel and get a cab.
When we were there, there were NO ubers, (now there are, thank goodness) we TRIED taking a bus, but ma goodness it's just too complicated.
Most of the cabs speak a bit a English (mostly Cantonese, bit of Mandarin). Our hotel gave us a card with the most popular destinations in Chinese and English so that helped A LOT.

You have to try...
Jumping off the Macau Tower !!!
Whether it be walking along the edges, sky jumping (we did that) or taking the BIG ASS plunge and bungee jump, DO IT. SUCK IT UP AND DO IT.
This made my whole trip worth it, and is definitely one of the most memorable things I've ever done. If you CAN NOT do upside down hanging and jumping off by yourself (like me), skip the bungee and grab your best mate and lover and get strapped together and step off the platform together.
The first step off is ARHGALSKDJFALSDJF indescribable  but the rest of the way down was pretty chill actually, it's quite slow. Just got to take that initial step !

Check out mi youtube blog here of Macau if you have time :)

Sorry it has taken me FOREVER to get this post done.
First post of the year woohoo !
I have a lot more fashion posts coming up and I promise I will actually get them done haha

Lots of love
and thanks for sticking around,
