Pros: Beautiful brand new property. Boutique hotel feel. Lovely service. Awesome pool and view of the see. Super friendly staff. Very close to town.

Cons: Room cleaning wasn't very on point, pretty slow.

Sunset Yacht Trip
Oia-Sunset Cruise

This company is actually based in Santorini Oia, but were down in Ios for the summer.
This was probably the highlight of my entire trip.
We booked a slightly more expensive one (90 euros per person) as we didn't want to get stuck with a bunch of party kids haha.
It was a 5 hour cruise including dinner, 3 beaches, snorkelling, sunset.

Warning: People who get sea sick you WILL get really badly seasick, the boat is quite rocky, but my friend Yuyu felt a lot better after she went into the water.

Asides from the fact that we almost drowned trying to be badass and snorkelling without life vests. IT WAS AWESOME, and the food was so yummy too !!!
They cooked us grilled chicken with tzatziki, pita bread and Greek salad, unlimited drinks on board too. The staff were so friendly and accommodating.

Tip: Bring a jacket or an extra towel because it gets FREEZING and super windy close to sunset, and sitting in a wet bikini and wet dowel will make you feel 10 times worse.

Thoughts
In hindsight, we probably wouldn't have booked the 2 days in Ios. The hotel was lovely and the yacht trip was amazing, but the whole island is very barren and empty. The town is tiny and quite deserted, everyone has to travel out on busses to go to parties and to go to tourist destinations like Manganari Beach. You can go visit the landmark of where man first lived, but it was just so hot and empty that we really couldn't be bothered walking around.

It's a good place to go to get away from the tourist buzz as it is very relaxing. But it can prove to be very boring. And we could have taken a yacht trip in Santorini anyway. So you won't miss out on much if you choose to not stop over in Ios.

We put iOS on our itinerary as it was a stopover on the ferry from Athens - Santorini, so we thought, may as well ! We don't regret going there for this trip, but if we had planned more and better, we would have skipped this island :)
