Today I wanted to share with you guys, a home-grown company dedicated to the bettering and nourishing of our bodies and lifestyles.

Around 4 years ago I became intolerant to almost every food under the sun.
I was sick, tired and stressed and had no idea why. It wasn't until my skin joined the party and went from a flawless hue to a disaster that would rival a teenagers that I realised that my diet was the cause so I cut the crap and started researching.
Safe to say I was so traumatised by the junk that they get away with calling food and the effects that these 'ingredients' have not just on our bodies but on our minds that I lived on nothing but Vegetables for a year.
Healthy? Maybe, but far from a balanced diet.
So after years of experimenting I am so excited to share my recipes with you, not only because they taste great but because they pack a nutritional punch too!
Jaci Bailey
Founder, 12 Health.

I first saw these little brown bags floating around on Instagram, and they were building up so much hype that I had to get my hands on them and try one out for myself !
I'm not as intolerant as Jaci, the founder of 12 Health, but I do have quite a fragile body in some ways and a very sensitive stomach, that I really just didn't care too much for. I have a massive sweet tooth and looooove cupcakes/muffins, but I always felt sick towards the end of eating one (cos of the excessive amount of processed sugar) or very bloated. I wanted to replace these cravings that benefitted my body, and not make me feel 'unhealthy'.

Upon ordering this mix, I knew it wouldn't taste amazing but I was more excited about all the nutrients packed into it. I ordered the Berry Protein Muffin Mix. Apart from it's pea isolate protein (vegan friendly) it is also choc-a-bloc full of tapioca flour, rice flour, xylitol, maize starch, chia seeds, organic goji, incaberries & blueberries (apple juice, sunflour oil), ground vanilla, guar gum (vegetable gum) bicarbonate of soda, cream of tartar, stevia.
See any artificial things in there ? Any strange numbers denoting colouring and flavouring ?
Yeah, me neither.

Now these muffins do taste 'healthy' but myself and most people opted for toppings for that actual flavour punch ! Keeping with the au naturale theme, I whipped up a

Coconut Avocado Cream

Ingredients
• Can of chilled coconut cream
(you can find this in the Asian section of your local grocer's store)
• Avocado
• Manuka honey/stevia/ground vanilla for sweetening

And then just whip everything uppppp.
Lather it onto your muffins, top it with some fresh fruit and voila !

You don't have to be a vegan, or super into health to try these out, think of it as a treat to your body.
And it's always fun to bake and decorate !
If you've been thinking about changing up your lifestyle and giving it a healthy kick or just simply 'cutting the crap' this is a fun way to give it a shot.
